Hey everyone, I’m back with another exciting ARC review! This time, I’ve had the pleasure of reading Daddy Down Under by Nora Phoenix, and let me tell you, it did not disappoint. If you’re a fan of steamy MM romance with a bit of a twist, this is the book you need in your life.

Now, I have to admit, Nora Phoenix has quickly become one of my favorite authors. I first came across her work when I read her super awesome, emotional, and extremely spicy Omegaverse series, Irresistible Omegas and Irresistible Dragons.

To say I fell in love with her storytelling would be an understatement. The way she mixes heartfelt emotions, intense chemistry, and intriguing plots had me hooked right from the start.

So, when I had the chance to beta read her latest book, Daddy Down Under, it was a no-brainer for me to sign up! The anticipation was real, and I couldn’t wait to dive into this new adventure.

Our main character is a billionaire who has it all—wealth, success, and everything he could ever want. But despite all that, he’s utterly bored. The classic midlife crisis trope, right?

Instead of buying a sports car or getting a new wardrobe, he decides to escape the chaos of his life and take a business trip to Australia—alone.

He’s been burned before, so trusting people isn’t easy for him. After his best friend betrayed him, leaving him emotionally shattered, he’s kept everyone at a distance. But then, a gorgeous, carefree surfer named Ocean falls into his lap—literally.

Ocean: The Carefree Surfer Who Turns Everything Upside Down

Ocean is nothing like the protagonist expects. He’s bossy, confident, and has this way of making our billionaire feel like an open book.

And, as if the age difference wasn’t enough (Ocean is half his age), their connection is undeniable. The sparks fly, and what begins as a simple fling quickly turns into something much deeper.

Despite telling himself that he’ll be in charge (because, well, he’s the billionaire), the protagonist agrees to let Ocean stay with him in Melbourne. It’s meant to be uncomplicated—no strings attached.

But of course, things never go as planned. Their dynamic shifts, and before long, the roles they thought they had start to blur.

The Unexpected Twist

Here’s the twist that had me hooked: Ocean starts to take on a role our protagonist never saw coming. He becomes the Daddy in their relationship. Yes, you read that right. The younger man takes charge in ways that the billionaire never expected.

Ocean’s carefree attitude brings structure and stability, and he starts to nurture the billionaire in ways he didn’t know he needed.

It’s a beautiful role reversal—where the younger, carefree partner becomes the one guiding their relationship. And while the age gap might seem intimidating, it’s clear that what they share goes beyond years—it’s about trust, connection, and an emotional bond that feels real and raw.

My Review

Nora Phoenix does it again! Cash is an older business man who was betrayed by his best friend. After losing his boyfriend to evil lies, Cash has become jaded and closed off to meaningful relationships.

He’s afraid of opening himself up to others and trusting them with his most vulnerable self. Ocean is young man who has been through the worst possible situation with his family but that hasn’t stopped him from being the sweet, loving and nurturing man he knows he is.

They meet on a plane when Ocean literally falls on Cash’s lap. The chemistry is instantaneous and sparks fly despite the age difference. Cash and Ocean find a mutual connection that allows them to fulfill each other’s needs and desires in the most precious and loving way; allowing them to find the missing piece of themselves were looking for all their lives.

Ocean’s love and tender care helps Cash come out of his shell and surrender to his desires without feeling ashamed. Cash helps Ocean fulfill his need to be a protector, a caretaker.

Together they find a way to mend their hearts while giving way to the fire that burns their bodies. It’s so rare so see a trope where the younger mc is the one taking care of the older one and Nora did a fantastic job depicting their relationship in the sweetest of ways. Absolutely a must read!
