Let’s start with this absolute gem of a book.
Damaged by Sloane Kennedy

This book popped up on my Goodreads page and just the blurb had me adding it to my KU and immediately reading it! It’s book 14 of a series but I couldn’t wait to read it.
I mean, look at that beautiful cover! That alone tells you how much heartbreak will be in this book😅
It was painful, heartbreaking and devastatingly beautiful. Silver and Dalton had me in tears. It’s the first book I read that flashes back on the early years of a trafficked victim.
I think that’s what made it more heartbreaking. I absolutely recommend it. It’s such a great read. Be mindful of triggers.
I’m wrecked
5⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
So many emotions in one book. I can’t even begin to describe how deep and hard this book hit me. I have read many books that tackle the horrors of human trafficking but this one just felt so much deeper. Maybe it’s because of Silver’s flashbacks as a boy.
Reading his experience with Ivan as a boy just wrecked me. I wanted to dive into the book and strangle Ivan myself!
Then there’s Dalton. The fact that he remained a decent person after everything he went through is testament that when you have a good heart, nothing can change you.
Silver and Dalton were two broken pieces that mended perfectly together. I skipped the first 13 books of this series because I stumbled upon this one and just had to read it.
I will read them from the beginning because if they’re remotely close to this one, I’m in for an amazing treat.

Dalton
Some scars run deeper than others…
I understood pain and I’d learned to live with it. My little house and my cabin cruiser that faithfully let me explore every part of Chesapeake Bay were enough for me and had been for a long time. I liked being alone and I was good at it. I wouldn’t have had it any other way.
I should have driven past him like everyone else. It shouldn’t have mattered that there was something familiar about him or that the torrential rain made it incredibly dangerous for him to be walking along the interstate at all. His drenched clothes clinging to his slim body and his slow but determined pace as he put one foot in front of the other called out to me in a way I never would have expected.
The plan was to pick him up and hand him back over to the friend we had in common, nothing more.
That was the plan, but the funny thing about plans is they rarely go the way they’re supposed to…

Never looking at the past is the key to surviving it…
After a lifetime of captivity with a cruel owner who’d purchased me for a bag of drugs and then stolen everything from me, I was finally free. I didn’t care that I didn’t have a penny to my name. I knew how to earn money. It didn’t matter if I was on my knees or bent over whatever was convenient, I just needed to get enough so I could know what it was like to truly be free.
And then he appeared. A familiar face among the harsh torrents of rain and cruel asphalt beneath my feet. He was the last thing my exhausted, battered body needed, and yet somehow I knew he wasn’t.
The ride was only supposed to get me to the closest bus station so I could start earning some cash, but by the time we’d gotten to his house after he’d purchased my “services” for the entire night, I’d already started to see the man beneath the scars.
Scars like mine.
One night. That was all it should have been before beginning my life of freedom. So then why did I feel like a captive again after just a few hours with him? A very willing captive whose freedom didn’t seem quite as important as before…
Although this is book 14 in the series, it should be read after book #11, Shattered. It can also be read as a standalone.

Next it’s this uplifting, lighthearted story. If you’re having a tough time, this will restore your faith that there’s good in this life.
Boyfriend Goals by Riley Hart

Lighthearted and inspiring
5⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This was the perfect book to uplift my mood after a very tough week. It was funny, lighthearted and inspiring.
We should all learn from Milo. His ability to tell exactly how he feels was a breath of fresh air in a character. His genuine personality just touched me in so many ways and I’m so glad I listened to this book.
I love how Riley wrote such a perfect character that society sees as imperfect and weird. It was his “weirdness” and “imperfections” that made him such a lovable person.
Truly recommend the audio because Iggy Toma does the most amazing narrations.
Just Business by Anna Zabo

Emotional
5⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
When I read the blurb for this book I wasn’t expecting it to be so heartfelt and emotional.
I knew there would be pain and trauma but it was so much deeper than that. Eli’s story was so painful in so many ways. Having lost so much definitely changes a person.
Then there’s Justin’s story which basically one upped Eli’s yet together they managed to make each other whole.
As much as loved Michael and Sam, I think Eli and Justin won my heart. Beautifully written and beautifully finished. I love happy endings.

Milo
Unusual. Quirky. Different. I’ve heard it all. I’ve accepted I’m not for everyone. Maybe not anyone.
When I find out I inherited a bookstore and apartment on a small East Coast island, I jump at the chance for a new life.
Turns out, I’ve also inherited a sexy, tattooed guy who not only rents the space next to my store for his tattoo parlor but my apartment too.
Did I mention he’s really hot?
And surprisingly sweet?
Gideon
I wasn’t looking for a roommate, but it’s not like I can stay at Milo’s place while he’s banished to a hotel.
Our unlikely friendship is instant. According to Milo, we’re bestie goals.
And if he doesn’t wear pants at home, who am I to complain?
Milo’s not like anyone I’ve ever known. I like laughing and flirting with him. He’s adorably honest, eager, and sexier than he realizes.
Now I just have to figure out how to convince him that maybe it’s time for an upgrade from bestie to boyfriend goals.
Who doesn’t love a business trope? I centainly do. This is a series of four books but this one was my favorite of the four. All are five star reads so make sure you read them all!
A brash assistant.
Justin White has the smarts, grit, and determination to succeed in the corporate world despite his colorful hair and eyeliner. Too bad his new employer’s prickly domineering CFO thinks otherwise.
A cold executive.
Haunted by an accident that left him with a wounded leg and broken heart, Eli Ovadia needs things neat and controlled. Justin is messy, whip smart, and pushes all of Eli’s buttons. But taming that brash man is out of the question.
A fiery affair that may burn them both.
One hot encounter at the office unlocks their smoldering desire, and sends them spinning into a relationship neither expected, but is that enough to overcome the scars of their past?
If you like kinky, age gap and forbidden romance, this next book is a must read! It’s honestly the hottest book I’ve read and that’s saying a lot!
Mine by Riley Hart

There’s hot and then there’s HOT!
5⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
All I can say is WOW. This book was definitely different from what we’re used from Riley Hart but damn was it good!
Marshall is John’s best friend. JT is John’s only son. Marshall and JT meet on an BDSM app and immediately start a Sub/Dom relationship without knowing who each other is. Not to mention Marshall is 18 years older than JT.
JT has always wanted an older Dom, one who can see to his needs and Marshall provides that for him and more. Marshall sees the real JT and encourages him to be himself. Marshall is everything JT ever needed.
I have read Sub/Dom books before but my God, this one made me blushed a few times and I’m no prude! Their scenes were beyond hot and how sexy is consent? I love how kind and respectful the whole thing was between JT and Marshall.
Definitely a must read. Just make sure you read the content warnings in case this is too much for you.

For as long as I can remember, I’ve craved submission, but have struggled to put my wants into words. Then along comes a man online that I know only as Sir, and the connection is instant. Our desires align in a way I’ve never experienced. Anonymous or not, Sir is exactly what I’m looking for.
After several intense online sessions, no faces involved, we finally agree to meet. Except the man waiting for me isn’t a stranger—it’s my dad’s lifelong best friend, Marshall.
Marsh
John’s my chosen family, my safe space. The only thing we don’t see eye to eye on are my personal needs in the bedroom. So, when his son, JT, turns out to be the first person who’s excited me in longer than I can remember, I’m devastated. John would never forgive me if I let this happen.
And I try to stay away, I swear, but I can’t.
What starts out as simple fulfilment of physical desires grows into something more. The trust JT and I share, his submission…it reaches me on levels I didn’t know were possible. He makes me crave forever.
JT is mine, but to claim him, I’m sure to lose everything else in the process.
Mine is a dad’s best friend, steamy romance. Naughtier than most of my books, please use the look inside feature to check the content warning.
Aren’t books with a touch of magic just fantastic? This next book is a holiday themed book that will make you believe in miracles. It’s book five of the Love in O’leary series but it can be read as standalone but better if read after the first four.
The Night by May Archer

A little bit of holiday magic
5⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I think this is my favorite of the whole series! I laughed so hard with Hazel’s shenanigans. Definitely seven going on 35, haha.
I’m a sucker for magic and miracles and The Night had a great abundance of both. I loved Gideon and Liam so much.
Granted communication would have solved everything, but then we wouldn’t have their amazing story. Truly enjoyed it. Definitely reread worthy.

One night in Vegas I gave him my heart… one day later, he broke it.
Look, I’ve never claimed to be a nice guy. I don’t do pretty words, I don’t give polite smiles, and I refuse to be sucked into the sappy bucket of sentimentality that is Christmas in small-town O’Leary. Smiling neighbors, overly decorated trees, a town parade, a Santa contest? Ho ho no. I do shifts as a firefighter, and I go home alone.
I fell into the trap once — that stupid night in Vegas — of believing there was more out there for me. I took a chance on a guy with magical green eyes and a gorgeous smile. The next day, Liam McKnight was gone. He took my heart with him… and left his wedding ring behind.
Except now my once-upon-a-time husband has reappeared with a kid in tow, and there are carols, lights, and cookies everywhere I turn. And worst of all? The spark between us burns brighter than ever, because whatever happened in Vegas definitely didn’t stay there. Liam came to town looking for an ending, but what’s building between us feels an awful lot like a beginning. Too bad it’s going to take more than a dozen interfering O’Learians to convince me to take a second chance on heartache, on love… on us.
Note: While The Night is very much Liam and Gideon’s story, characters from past books do make an appearance, and you’ll enjoy the book exponentially more if this isn’t your first trip to O’Leary.
I hope these reviews get you excited about picking up a new book. Things in America are getting worse everyday and a good book is the perfect to forget about your troubles for a few hours.

Until next time, happy reading!
